     0.9 cm wide x 1.1 cm high x 0.1 cm thick

Description:
     
    Small fragment of cartonnage.
    Constructed of gesso on linen.
    Fragment is slightly convex.
    

    
FRONT
    
     Painted gesso (plastered) surface.
     Gesso surface is cream color.
     Gesso layer is very thin.
     Thick curved line drawn in black ink.
     Surface is dirty (right side) and darkened.

BACK
    
     Shows the layer of cloth used to make 
     the cartonnage.
