Sealing with Buddhist Sanskrit Text - Front View

Eastern India - 8th-12th century CE

Grayish-brownish terracotta disk with seal impression.  Sealing is broken and missing lower 1/4.   Complete impression of the seal.  Poor impression on the left side of the sealing due to surface imperfections in the clay surface affecting some of the text.  Minor wear to outer edges/ridges of sealing and a small surface scratch on the right side of the sealing.

Type 1 seal containing 7 bands (6 surviving on this sealing) of text separated by lines.

Undecorated. Rounded back. Sealing is broken. Lower portion is missing.   Surface is damaged and exposed interior material is powdery and friable.
