Future Plans and Additions
to the

Papyri Pages





The Papyri Pages were begun on September 18, 1998 and consisted of only a single page with a title. The first actual content (images, text, and a single link) was added three days later. Since then, there has been continued growth and improvement, as new pages are added and old ones revised or retired.

Recent Additions



  • A Documentary Greek Papyrus   dating from the from the Ptolemaic Period has been added to the Manuscript Exhibit.


  • A small Documentary Greek Papyrus Fragment  dating from the from the Ptolemaic Period has been added to the Manuscript Exhibit.


  • A Xylographic print of the classic Tibetan Buddhist mantra om mani padme hum has been added to the Manuscript Exhibit.



  • A Demotic documentary papyrus dating from the from the Ptolemaic Period has been added to the Manuscript Exhibit



  • The newly re-designed Papyri Pages Exhibition is now on-line. There are separate listings for Manuscripts and Printed Items and for the Artifacts. Over the coming months several new items will be added to the exhibit and some of the items currently on view will have new or additional images.



  • Still on-line. A special temporary exhibit on Stereo Views. It features over 25 vintage images from Egypt, Greece, Italy and other exotic locations.


  • Addition of a bronze seal to the Exhibiton on 8th century Terracotta Buddhist Votive Sealings.


  • Updated the article on Buddhist Votive Sealings. with the image of a bronze seal containing an incised Buddhist text.







Still Under Construction




  • A number of exciting new additions and renovations are planned and currently under construction.




  • The Papyri Pages Exhibit is in the process of being redesigned and expanded. In addition to new and better scans of some of the current items, it will include additional manuscripts and manuscript fragments.


  • The Site Links section is slowly being being expanded and reorganized. The changes will be phased in gradually. New links are still being added to the current pages on a regular basis.
